Application Sharing enables the Presenter to share individual applications or the entire desktop.
Starting Application Sharing
Because of the Active X components used, you must use the Internet Explorer browser to enable application sharing. If you are not using Internet Explorer, you will not see the application sharing button presented in the top screen menu.
To start sharing:
- Click the Application Sharing button.

The Application Sharing dialog box lists the applications running on your desktop that you can share.
- By default, all open applications are selected. If you do not want to share all applications, click in the checkbox to deselect any application you do not want to share. You can also deselect All Applications and click in the checkbox to select any application you want to share.
- Click the Share button.
The Application Sharing dialog box minimizes and you can share the applications on your desktop.
Note: You may need to install an ActiveX plugin application before you can start sharing.
Setting share quality
You can adjust the image quality to optimize the performance balance between speed and resolution. The default setting is Medium Quality, which performs well on most systems.
To set the share quality:
- In the Application Sharing dialog box, move the slider to choose a setting.
Choose from the following settings:

Managing Shared Applications
When you are sharing appplications, an icon display in the Windows taskbar:

In each application being shared, an icon appears in the Windows title bar at the top right of the application:
To change your Application Sharing settings during a sharing session:
- Click the Application Sharing icon in the Windows taskbar or the title bar of the shared application.

Select Application to Share - opens the Application Sharing dialog box. You can add or remove selections from the list of shared applications or change the Share Quality settings.
Restore Main Window - restores the conference window.
Annotate - opens the Annotation tool.
Stop Sharing - ends the Application Sharing session.
Annotating
The annotation tool provides markup capability. You can highlight or place arrows directly onto a shared application.
To access the Annotation tool:
- Click the Application Sharing icon in the Windows taskbar or the title bar of the shared application.
- Select Annotate.
The Annotation tool bar opens.

Arrow tool - Click the Arrow tool and click in the application window where you want to place an arrow.
Highlight tool - Click the Highlighter and drag across the application window where you want to highlight information. Click the down arrow on the Highlight tool to select a different color.
Erase tool - Click the eraser to delete all annotations.
Stopping Application Sharing
When you are finished sharing applications, you can stop Application Sharing in several ways.
To stop sharing:
- In the conference window, click the Application Sharing button.

- Click the Application Sharing icon in the Windows taskbar or the title bar of the shared application and select Stop Sharing.
- In the Application Sharing window, click Cancel.
- In the Application Sharing dialog box, click Stop Sharing.
